Margaret Schedel and Weiwei Jin are two leading composers/multimedia
artists working on a new singerless opera – “The Self” – that takes the psychoactive
drug Ayahuasca as a dominant thread. In a unique glimpse into the work-in-progress
of this multimedia installation opera, we will hear the sonifications of rat brain
scan data, explore how Schedel/Jin are animating paintings and see how they are
creating interactive lighting through gestural control.
