Weina Li

Weina Li is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice combines natural and technological elements to create immersive installations, sculpture, photography, and video work. These works reflect her understanding of and fascination with the world around herself and the state of being. Weina’s work has been exhibited in New York at ChaShaMa, (You are the star, 2023), and Chinatown Soup (The Butterfly of Styx River, 2020), in San Francisco, CA at 688 Sutter Gallery (A Piece of Red Cloth, 2018), among other showings across the U.S.

Weina has earned an MFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts (New York, NY), as well as a BFA from the Academy of Art University (San Francisco, CA). She has participated in residency programs at ChaNorth (Pine Plains, NY) and The Hortus Spring Residency (Stone Ridge, NY). Documentation of her project, You are the star, was published in an artist’s book by Printed Matter in 2022, with pages hand-printed, cut, and bound by the artist herself. Weina was born and raised in China and is currently based in Brooklyn.
