Glitch Cake is an electronic-rock trio based in Brooklyn, NY. Described as dark electronic ambient, or glitchtronic, the band draws from glitch art, house, minimal, dance and drum n’ bass styles. The band is comprised of drummer Poyraz Aldemir, guitarist/keyboardist Gof Parnmongkol, and singer Kat Tingum. A diverse musical background influences the band. Aldemir studied jazz technique in Turkey, Parnmongkol toured with ska and punk bands in Thailand, and Tingum performed as a musical theatre actor with several professional companies in the Midwest. These three musicians met in New York after they’d each begun composing and producing electronic based solo works. They now meld their styles to collaboratively compose and perform electronic inspired music. Glitch Cake performs regularly in New York City, and the band is scheduled to release an EP early this summer 2013.
