Zarah Cabanas (aka Lady Firefly) is a musician, video artist, and Co-Founder of Space Acres Studios, a creative space and music/video studio in the Catskill mountains of New York. Zarah’s work explores the space where dreams and waking life collide. Currently, Zarah is working on two original music projects with partner in crime Matt Werden — Sinister and Smiley and Firefly Moon. She collaborates with artists from all walks of life, recently working with Dave Chappelle, Mos Def, The Roots, Erykah Badu, and Blue Man Group. Her video artworks have been presented throughout New York including Lincoln Center and is a former Artist-in-Residence at The Experimental Television Center, and published on the EyeWash 3 DVD, Zarah has also traveled throughout North America, South America, Europe, and Asia to present her video art at festivals, underground events and in unique collaborations. Zarah is a Film/TV alumni of New York University: Tisch School of the Arts. She is also member of the data-visualization collective The Office for Creative Research. She was born in Manila Philippines and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland.
