Panel 2: Mediated Landscapes-The INDEX Festival

As part of The INDEX Festival, a group of artists, theorists, and inventors discuss the commonalities between building landscapes in the online world and the real world. A focus will be on the current trends in visual data in comparison with urban planning, architectural processes, and the virtual landscapes in gaming culture.

8pm – 8:30 Second Life tour with Jon RafmanA group of artists and theorists discuss the commonalities between building landscapes in the online world and the real world. A focus will be on the current trends in visual data in comparison with urban planning, architectural processes, and the virtual landscapes in gaming culture. Visual data, urban planning for remote countries and an exploration of current and historical cartographic methodologies will be exhibited providing insight into an increasingly digitized and overlapping world between mapping the real and online spaces.

Moderated by: Cornelia Lund, (http://www.fluctuating-images.de/en) who will speak about her screening series Animated Architectures regarding the use of video in architectural renderings and vision.
